Nebraska, unlike most other states, is progressing in its economic expansion and I am committed to continuing the effort to keep our state’s economy diverse and vibrant. We need to provide opportunities to maintain and expand high quality jobs for our citizens with a tax and regulatory structure that encourages investment.

I believe one part of the problem with our high property taxes involves the property tax assessment practices. I am absolutely opposed to how the Sarpy County Assessor is valuing the farm site/first acre and I will introduce a state law change to limit assessors’ authority in that area.

Economic opportunity starts with a quality education. Nebraska has a strong public education system; however, I will work to sustain the dynamic public, private and home school educational opportunities for our children. I want to make sure our families and educators have all the tools they need to provide a high quality education.
